Mediation is a structured process where an impartial third party assists two or more disputing parties in resolving conflict through the use of specialized communication and negotiation techniques. All parties in mediation are encouraged to actively, openly and honestly participate in the process to assist the mediator to facilitate a resolution. The mediator does not render a final decision but offers guidance and suggestions in order to allow the parties to create their own settlement.
